Travel Spotlight: J.K. Place

If you happen to find yourself booking a flight to either Capri, Florence or Rome, boy do we have a surprise, or three. Meet J.K. Place, the luxury boutique hotel chain from hotelier Ori Kafri that continues to be a hotspot for celebrities,  jet-setters and anyone that appreciates stunning architecture and luxurious amenities. Designed by famed architect, Michele Bönan––who is known for his eye-catching designs––it’s no wonder these hotels are getting praise from heavyweights like Conde Nast Traveller and word-of-mouth, alike.

The first of the three properties we’re here to discuss is J.K. Place Capri. Arguably the most visited hotel in the trio, it’s a charming 22 room, eight suite boutique hotel and has quickly established itself as one the chicest places to stay in Capri – and with good reason. For one, the spot is incredibly charming. Designed with a nod to it’s picturesque surroundings, there are sea-blue walls with stark white and dark wood accents. Swoon-worthy and serene, the structure of the rooms display vaulted ceilings and plenty of elegant french doors beckoning you to bring the glistening sunlight and sweet sea from the Marina Grande inside.

One of the obvious highlights of this destination is the location itself. Whether it be a private charter to the Faraglioni, a restaurant reservation in la Piazzeta or a walking tour of Van San Michele and the Augustus Gardens, with so much to do, J.K. Place Capri will help you book any excursion you’re looking to take. Of course if you’d prefer to keep it low-key for an evening or two you can always relax in their on-site library or take in the city of Capri from your stunning private terrace, order room service and settle into your plush four-poster bed as you listen to the waves crash against the sandy beaches.

Next up is J.K. Place Firenze. Opened in 2003, this award-winning / “best-of” boutique hotel is located on Piazza di Santa Maria Novella (close to museums, designer shops and many restaurants) and is 2nd to the J.K. Place family. The structure itself is part historic palazzo and part modern townhouse, the 2 halves coming together around a broad lightwell, which drops to an airy, glass-covered dining room creating an intimate yet modern vibe. Guests quickly fill the 20 luxury equitted rooms that boasts as much trend-setting style – a warmly pink-lit cocktail bar, swanky Louis XV fireplaces, hardwood floors – as there is technology and gadgets. With their impeccably friendly and on-point customer service, boasting a staff to guest ratio of 1:2, it’s a favorite amongst the fashion-forward set as well as families welcoming all that wish to call J.K. Place Firenze their home away from home.

Providing a non-pretentious experience of Rome, the newest of Kafri’s property’s finds itself full of exquisite artwork, an abundance of natural light and modern design making it seem more like a chic hangout for the young and powerful than a seclusive getaway. The mid-century decor takes president throughout the 30-room interiors showcasing marble sculptures, four-poster beds and splashes of vibrant colors.
