The four-city fashion marathon may have just officially ended, but if you’re anything like us, the covetable trends seen at shows will linger in our minds for months to come. Runway beauty is arguably just as crucial to the show as the clothes and accessories, and it contributes to the biggest trends of the season. A model’s hair and makeup can strengthen the collection’s overall vision—ultimately clashing with or enhancing what’s presented.

Although we were viewing the Fall/Winter 2020 collections this month, some of the best beauty looks are definitely achievable now. Whether you’re eyeing classic winged liner that’ll that never go out of style or want to get experimental with bold shadow or braided hair, these are the most inspiring looks from all the shows. Then, see what Olivia had fun testing out herself in the fashion capitals.

Classic Red
One can never go wrong with a swipe of red lipstick–it’s simply timeless. And as many collections were inspired by past decades, this beauty look helped tie the theme together. From matte scarlet lips to glossy or brighter, saturated iterations, the classic lip reoccurred in New York through Paris.

Playful Ponies
Tied back hair always looks polished, and plays on this style were ever-present this season, especially in NYC when hairstylist Odile Gilbert was involved. Models at Jason Wu had long braids while at Jonathan Simkhai, twisted ponytails were also crafted backstage by Gilbert.

Graphic Liner
Artists got creative with eyeliner this season, varying from delicate flicks to chunkier cat eyes and smudgy smoky looks. Makeup by Pat McGrath was a standout, including the swirled and embellished eyes at Valentino and the exaggerated wings at Miu Miu.

So Slick
In fashion editorials, slicked-back hair is a go-to as the striking look is sculptural yet sleek at the same time. The styles occurred on the runway, too, with all types of sprayed and gelled versions showcased. Whether brushed back and tucked behind the ears or parted into a low chignon, this look has a high impact.

Lustrous Lids
Whether it’s the Euphoria-inspired makeup trend still going strong or a natural complement to all the sequined ready-to-wear, there was no shortage of shimmering eyes on the runway. From full-on silver foil applied by Lynsey Alexander at Erdem to glistening shadow combinations at Altuzarra by makeup artist Tom Pecheux, all that glitters is golden for FW20.

Fashion month is always a great time to get ahead of the trends by creating unique looks that coincide with what’s happening on the runway. With the help of a few favorite makeup artists and hairstylists, Olivia tried out a plethora of beauty looks that are worth revisiting including slicked hair. A playful birthday braid was executed in Paris, sparkly eyes with a subtle wing were glam for a night out, and a ponytail with a striking gold hair accessory was her look at the Etro show.
