Embellish Your Tresses with Standout Hair Jewelry

Straight from the runways and red carpets, jeweled hair accessories are the new way to make any look dazzle.

Jewelry is no longer only restricted to the décolletage, as demonstrated these past few seasons. Instead up and down the runways, industry tastemakers have introduced metal hair adornments especially at the Balmain FW19, and Mugler SS20 shows where stylists added chain-like details on/in the model's hair. Plus, major headpieces ruled at the FW19 Haute Couture shows, while at Simone Rocha's past LFW show, pearly headbands were heavily incorporated.

Now the trend has made its way to awards season too, as at the Golden Globes this past weekend, Rooney Mara wore Givenchy Haute Couture with a Princess Leia-esque headpiece. This said piece elevated a demure black lace dress straight to the best-dressed list. We predict other stars will experiment with similar sparkling accessories going forward.

How can you get the look? If going for a DIY approach, wrap a strand of pearls around a ponytail or try clipping crystal earrings in place with a few bobby pins.

As for our favorite accessory designers? Jennifer Behr is an excellent choice with her Gwen and Gia crystal barrettes. Part your tresses to the side and then layer the clips in succession above the ear for a polished appearance.

Or try a full headband by Magnetic Midnight because one of the brand's intricate golden pieces is pure goddess perfection. With all of these striking hair accessories in tow, we say it won't just be a great hair day, but a great hair year.
