OP Guilty Pleasure — The Queen’s Gambit

A period drama with panache.

“This fall has brought some amazing programs—Ted Lasso for laughs, The Good Fight for a fast-paced legal back and forth—but lately, I’ve been entranced by Anya Taylor-Joy as Beth Harmon in Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit. Set in the 1950s and 1960s, the fashion is breathtaking, but second to the gripping plot. The story follows an orphaned chess prodigy who’s personal demons and struggles plague her as she rises the ranks. Definitely binge worthy.”
